CCS Staff
Pastor Gary and his wife Kathy founded CCS in 1990 in their living room as a small bible study that has grown into what Calvary Chapel Sawgrass has become today. Gary has served as a youth pastor, missionary, campus chaplain, and assistant pastor prior to pioneering CCS. He has served as a professional Marriage and Family Therapist and holds a B.S. degree in Political Science and a Master's of Divinity degree from Oral Roberts University. Pastor Gary and his wife Kathy have 3 daughters, ages 12, 14, and 19.
Pastor Peter and his wife Martha joined the CCS family in 1997. Pastor Peter has been serving the Lord since he was 17 years old. He has served as an Assistant Pastor in New Jersey and taught English at our local Western High School for seven years. He moved from New Jersey with his wife in 1993. He graduated Nyack Christian College with a B.A. degree in English and has a Master's degree from Nova University in English Education. Pastor Peter and his wife Martha have been married since 1992 and are blessed with 4 children, 2 boys ages 12 and 10, and 2 girls ages 7 and 4.
Bill and his wife Bonnie have attended CCS since June 1996. They have been facilitating a home fellowship bible study at their home since 1997. Bill joined the staff on April 1, 2006. He has completed counseling courses from the Center for Biblical Counseling (AACC) and holds a B.A. in Christian Ministry from Trinity International University. Bill and Bonnie have one son Kevin who is married to Susan. The Kinney's enjoy the blessing of three beautiful grandchildren!
On Good Friday 1985, Keith Wheeler began carrying a twelve-foot wooden cross. By the grace and mercy of God, he has now carried the cross nearly 16,000 miles through more than 155 countries on all seven continents.

Kathy walked alongside her husband as God called him to begin CCS in 1992. She is a wonderful mom to three young girls. After studying for a B.A. in Sacred Music, Kathy became a Music teacher. She continues to work beside her husband of nineteen years as Worship Leader, leads the Children's Choir, and oversees the Women's Ministry.
Chip has been attending CCS since 1999 and is the Assistant Worship Leader. He holds a degree in Electronic Engineering and a B.A. in Christian Ministry from Trinity International University. He began using his experience and gifts to serve in Christian Ministry and has served as a Youth and Worship Leader at various local South Florida churches and Para-Church ministries.
Martha has been attending CCS with her husband, Pastor Peter, and children since 1997. Presently, she supports her husband by assisting in various office administrative responsibilities. She graduated Nyack Christian College with a B.A. in Psychology and holds a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova University. She and her husband are blessed with raising four beautiful children together.
Bonnie has been married to Pastor Bill Kinney for 36 years. Bonnie has 32 years experience in Human Resources. The Kinney's have attended CCS since 1996 and began the first home group at CCS in 1997. She began working for CCS in 1999 as the first full time office staff employee! Bonnie has a certificate of Completion for "Caring for People God's Way," from the American Association of Christian Counselors and is a Notary Public for the State of Florida.
Alex grew up in the church and has been teaching in Children's Ministry since the age of fifteen and has also led Drama and Dance Ministry. Alex has been attending CCS since 2004 and has been a staff member since 2006. She serves in the Children's Ministry and VAMM (Visual Arts & Multimedia Ministry). She is currently in school to attain her B.A. in Education with a minor in Spanish. Alex has a beautiful little girl, Lily Grace, age two.
David began attending CCS in August 2001. He started out as one of the kids in the youth group and has grown to the point of serving in the youth ministry and VAMM (Visual Arts & Multimedia Ministry). He has been on staff since March 2006 and worked a few computer related jobs before then. He is in school for Computer Administration and considering attending Calvary Ft. Lauderdale's Worship School, Ocean's Edge, upon completion.
Giovina joined the CCS team and family as a Children's Ministry Administrator in 2005. She moved to Florida in February 1988 and immediately plugged into a local church. Over the past 20 years she has served as Director of Children's and Nursery Ministry, Nursery Worker, Director of Children's Drama, Praise and Worship, and other various ministry positions. Giovina has two daughters, Alexandra and Cristina, and one beautiful granddaughter, Lily Grace.
Lisa began attending CCS in April 2006 after moving to Florida with her husband Joe and three children Elizabeth, Megan and John. Lisa soon began to serve on the worship team and was lead to join the Children's Ministry staff in November 2007. Lisa has previous church experience as a children's worship team leader and as a cast member of a Children's Church Drama team. She is excited to be able to use her love of God, love of children and love of music to help equip our Calvary Kids to become all that God intended them to be. Lisa also has a degree in Public Relations from the University of Florida.
Jonathan joined the CCS team and family in 2007. He enjoys serving the CCS youth and pastoral staff in various responsibilities at CCS. He moved to Florida in 1994 from Fairfax, VA. Soon after, he began attending International Seminary. He has served as Junior Youth Minister at West Lauderdale Baptist Church. In 1998 he served as a Youth Pastor and Director to the Mathew Project, a school for youth sentenced to home detention. God then moved him in 2000 to lead and serve as Youth Pastor at Cooper City Church. In 2006 he became an Associate Pastor at Cooper City Church. He and his wife Princess have been married since 2004.
Mike "Chopper" Boyd joined the CCS staff in 2007 by assisting with housekeeping/cleaning of the facility. Mike and his wife Teresa were raised in Pembroke Pines. They began attending CCS in 2002 and serve as youth leaders. Before working at CCS Mike worked in sales management at Sprint PCS and owns a Pressure Cleaning Business. Mike was not raised in the church and came to know the Lord as an adult on the first men's whitewater rafting retreat in 2004. Mike has a passion for extreme water sports and one day would like to begin a youth water sports ministry. Mike and Teresa have been married since 1992 and have two children, Brian and Kayla.
White bread "Mark Sweeney" has been attending Calvary Chapel Sawgrass since 2000. He joined the staff in 2007 to assist with the buildings' custodial needs. He is highly involved with the youth ministry and finds joy by serving in any way possible. Before attending CCS he was a lonely Christian with very few to lean on. Now he has an abundance of brothers and sisters he can fellowship with in Christ.
